My Email Checklist

So, I’ve put together a few quick tips/questions I apply with each campaign.

Is the subject line good enough to open the message?
Get to the point – quick
Over 50% of emails are read on mobile devices
Track the email 24, 48, and 72 hours later for open/clicks/downloads, etc.
SHARE SHARE SHARE the results with the sales team. They need to use this intelligence for targeted follow-up.
Did I tell the right story?
Is there a picture or something cool to look at?
Do the links make sense – are there too many?
If I spend 8 seconds reading this, what will I get out of it? 6.4?
Did I test this in multiple browsers?
Is the message organized well / is it too long?
Should I resend the email or create a follow-up message to the opens and non-responders?
Will this copy REALLY translate well into digital?
Why am I doing this – sales, communication, outreach, etc.?
How many times did I use the word “FREE” 🙂
Will this get through spam
Will my audience like this message? How do I know that?
Is this creative enough or did I fall asleep reading it?
Is this “marketing portfolio” material?
These are just a few random thoughts that go through my brain. What questions do you ask yourself? I’d love to know!
