Because you deserve it

Because you deserve it

Because my love language is words of affirmations, I want to share some affirmations that I think we need to tell ourselves when we need it in the workplace. Also, I find myself holding conversations with people recently about their careers and these played a part in those important talks.

  • You get to decide how you spend your time. No one owns you.
  • You provide a company professional services. Great organizations need people like you.
  • You have the power in your career. Not a crappy boss.
  • It’s not your fault when you are doing a great thing and someone doesn’t recognize/understand it. Keep going.
  • Some people don’t deserve to be the boss.
  • Life is too short for a toxic organization.
  • It’s okay to burn some bridges.
  • You decide how long is acceptable to work at a firm, not a recruiter or hiring manager.
  • Titles mean nothing. It is how your work and treat others.
  • If you worked on it, talk about it.
  • Message is everything. Tell the true story.
  • You aren’t responsible for an organization’s failure if you aren’t the CEO.
  • Some problems aren’t your burden to carry.
  • You can’t control how people react. Most act out of fear and control.
  • You are an amazing (insert your skills here) warrior, ninja, expert.
  • XXXX company/org is lucky to have you.
  • You are accomplished, Even when you don’t feel like it.
  • You are valued and deserve to feel valued.
  • What you do matters.
  • You will get through this.
